The Love Story

Danny and I first met when we were put in the same tutor class in our first year of secondary school at 11 years old. We were friends throughout school and then, when we were 15 years old, we started dating. It was one of my friends (a bridesmaid!) who helped bring us together. By the time we married, we had already been together 13 years!

We have had so many memorable moments in our years together... our first house and our first baby (our Labrador, Marley) then on to our new home where we had our two beautiful children, Skylah and Sonny. People always ask how have we stayed together from such a young age and I never really have an answer, but I came across a quote that I had engraved on our guest book which sums us up perfectly - “marriage is falling in love many times, always with the same person”. I have loved Danny as my childhood sweetheart. I have loved him as the father to our children. Now I get to love him as my husband, who I will spend the rest of my life with.

We were so grateful that so many special family and friends were able to come abroad to Cyprus for our wedding day. All my bridesmaids are my lifelong school friends and are like sisters to me. Danny’s best men were his brother and three lifelong friends who have known us from the start and shared our journey with us. Our wedding day was so special and the speeches were very emotional because everyone who came to the wedding had been in our lives for as long as we have been together.

The Dress

Whilst searching for my dream dress in a store in Hull, I found that every dress I chose to try on was an Enzoani gown, so I just naturally fell in love with the collection. One day, I noticed that there was a competition online to win one of my favourite Enzoani dresses.

I received a phone call to say that I had won, but I had already purchased a wedding dress! However I was still so pleased and couldn’t wait to try some more Enzoani gowns on knowing that I was able to keep one! My intention was to have two dresses!

Once I tried the Juri dress on I just knew it was "the one", it was the perfect destination wedding dress. I fell in love with the back of the dress first, the detail was just amazing and the diamond straps added a bit of glamour to a simple style. I loved that it was half lace and half plain at the bottom as it really flattered my figure. The detail at the bottom of the dress was just beautiful and the train was a gorgeous feature which made the dress feel so bridal and looked amazing in the photos.

I went with a long, sheer veil which complemented the dress so much as you could still see all the beautiful detail on the back. In the end I didn’t even take my original dress with me. I loved the Juri gown so much that I knew I wouldn’t want to take it off! I had so many compliments on this dress and I couldn’t have had a more perfect dress for my wedding day.

Most Memorable Moments

Looking back at our wedding day, there were so many emotional moments that I will remember for a lifetime. I think walking down the aisle will stay with me forever. It is every little girls dream to have that moment when you feel like a princess in your wedding dress. I cried all the way down with my children and my dad walking beside me. Danny was there waiting for me with 'Perfect' by Ed Sheeran playing in the background. Another amazing memory was being newly married on the beach with an amazing view, our family and friends cheering and our songs playing. It was better than I could have ever wished for.
