#EnzoaniRealBride: Alex & Doron

The Wedding Boutique Owner Alex's Gorgeous & Romantic Nuptials in South Africa

As the owner of gorgeous bridal shop The Wedding Boutique located in Cape Town, South Africa, Alex is no stranger to the bridal business and all that goes into helping to make a bride's visions for the big day come true. So when it came time for her own glamorous (and insanely beautiful) spring wedding in the winelands of South Africa, Alex chose to wear Journey, a 2017 Blue by Enzoani wedding dress -- and we couldn't be more honored. Read on to find out how she found her perfect match in Doron, what stood out to her about her Journey bridal gown, and the best advice she has to offer fellow #EnzoaniRealBrides in the planning process:

THE DRESS

The most important thing for me was to be comfortable. As soon as I tried on the Journey, I knew it was the one…it is made of a stretch material which allowed me to move, and it had a beautiful low back which I loved.

I decided to add a soft, flowy skirt which I removed for the reception, which added a fun element I think!

THE LOVE STORY

We met through a mutual friend at one of the biggest parties in Cape Town called  MCQP (Mother City Queer Project) in December 2013. We were instantly drawn to one another and spent the whole night together. The next day, Doron found me on Facebook, and shortly thereafter we met for some drinks. About a week later, I remember telling my friends that this was the guy I was going to marry! When you know, you just know!

THE WEDDING DAY / MOST MEMORABLE MOMENTS

There were a few moments:

Our Horas: Israeli dancing where boys and girls dance in a traditional Jewish way. It really got the party started and set the tone for our fun and happy wedding!

Our speeches were beautiful, emotional and funny! And our first dance, which was a mash-up :)

MY ADVICE...

Give your suppliers as much information as you can. If you are clear and know what you want, you will get what you want and be happy.

I told Jenni, our photographer, the kind of look and feel I wanted in the pics. I was in two minds about telling her as I didn’t want her to feel like I was undermining her great talent!

In the end, I decided to tell her, and she was so grateful and happy that I did. She said it gave her great direction, but didn’t stifle her creativity!
