Jim and I met in high school. We went on 3 dates at the end of senior year, but knew we were going our separate ways for college. We had never been single at the same time through our twenties and became known as "the friends that flirted for 7 years”.
Then, the timing finally aligned. It started at a housewarming party, that ended with a Nerf gun fight and a kiss! For 3 months, we secretly dated. When we finally revealed it, our friends weren’t surprised at all. Turns out, most of them had made a bet on when (not if) we would start dating!
Jim caught me by complete surprise in Lake Tahoe last year. A falsely “lost” wallet brought us back to the beach at sunset. Jim dropped to a knee while my back was turned. I looked back with a shock, and exclaimed “what is happening?!” He said he was finally asking me something he had known he would since our first date. I replied “of course!” After celebrating 7 of our friend’s weddings this year, we're so beyond excited for ours in 2024!
