Mike and I met in 10th grade at the age of 15 in high school through a mutual friend. We grew up together and attended the same college, Cleveland State University. He graduated with his MBA and I was in Nursing School. All of a sudden I was not feeling well and was diagnosed with a rare genetic condition-TSC and told I was in Stage 4 kidney Disease at the age of 19, luckily with medications I was able to carry on and graduate college and start my dream job working in the cardiac icu. Mike was with me through all of this and in the summer of 2021, when I was 24 years old, I became very sick and was unable to work, Mike got tested and ended up being a perfect live donor match for me. Due to my kidney failure I ended up needing dialysis for a couple of months and was transplanted on Sept. 20th, 2021. Mike’s generous gift saved my life and I am here today because of him. I am feeling well and we just moved into our first home and cannot wait to be married next summer after 11 years together!
