My life changed 9 years ago. I was 19 and starting a new position at a clinic. I was being introduce to all upper management by my manager. My fiancé was facing the opposite direction in his office when my manager and I walked in the doorway. When he turned around to greet us, that’s when we locked eyes with each other. It was like time stood still for that moment. There was no one else but us. It’ll admit it’s strange because I am not the sappy romantic type by any means and I definitely never believed in love at first sight. But, when our eyes locked for the first time, it was like a connection was being made before words were ever spoken. I was the one who proceeded to give him a handshake . He was so dumbstruck that he wordlessly gave me his hand. And in that moment , I knew. I knew that every single action or decision that I made in my life was meant to lead me to that one moment with him. To meet him. And I knew in that moment that he was the one.
