In March 2015, Niki was visiting friends from Seton Hall University, the first college she attended before finishing school in Arizona. Her girlfriends took her to a party with Ricky's fraternity, where Niki introduced herself to Ricky, and they have talked everyday since.

In July 2015, Niki celebrated her 21st birthday in New York and Ricky took her on their first date.


In March 2016, Ricky flew to Arizona for his spring break to visit Niki at school and even met her parents.


In June 2016, Niki moved to New York for law school and the two were inseparable all summer. By August they were boyfriend and girlfriend.


After graduation in 2019, Niki and Ricky moved in together in their home, Jersey City.


In June 2022, Ricky proposed and Niki said yes, finally!
