The Love Story:
We met on the trading floor where we both worked in London. He was just the most gorgeous man I had ever seen, and he had the kindest blue eyes! It was definitely love at first sight... he made me laugh the first time we spoke, and we never looked back.

Five years later, on the beach at sunset in Suffolk, with the most beautiful diamond ring, Duncan asked me to marry him! Almost a year to the day, we got married at our absolute dream venue, Babington House in Somerset.

We wanted to have meaningful connections with special aspects of our wedding. Duncan had taken me to Babington House for my birthday a few years before, and as soon as I realized they did weddings, I knew that is where I wanted us to get married one day (although I didn’t let slip to him at the time!!). The venue and the amazing staff were so familiar to us that we both felt relaxed on the day.

The whole day was everything we dreamed it would be - but there were certainly a few highlights! Waiting with nervous excitement with my gorgeous bridesmaids before we made our way across to the ceremony, they all calmed me down and made sure my dress looked perfect!

Seeing Duncan for the first time as I started my walk down the aisle, my nerves suddenly evaporated & I just felt so happy! As we said our vows in the tiny, ancient church, the sun began streaming through the stained-glass windows, and it just felt like everything was glowing. It was just wonderful, and such a special moment.

My friend’s jewelry business made my stunning engagement ring and both of our wedding rings. A family friend created all our calligraphy for the tables – it was lovely thinking that so many people had made a real impact on our day. My mother-in-law, my mum, and aunt were on hand for all wedding planning, help and advice. I couldn’t have done it without them as I have a full-time job in the city, and wedding planning felt like a second job at times! It can be stressful and expensive, but I think you have to remember at the end of the day, it is just you and your partner celebrating your everlasting love and commitment to each other forever...And that is really what it is all about.
At the end of the ceremony, Natalie Cole’s "This Will Be (An Everlasting Love)" was playing as we burst out of the chapel into the confetti and sunshine, brimming over with love and happiness. It was such a happy, glorious rush!

At our reception, we had the most incredible saxophonist playing our favorite Ibiza tunes with our guests enjoying signature cocktails which we had designed with the bar manager ourselves…I had a celebratory cocktail in London when I finally chose my wedding dress - and we recreated this for our wedding day, along with a cocktail Duncan and I had had on our first date!

We had our band playing our most loved songs throughout our evening meal, and looking around the room at our family and friends singing their hearts out, drinking champagne, smiling, and laughing was a moment that we will both treasure forever. We felt so much love and emotion in that room, we both just felt completely overwhelmed with it, and it was just perfect.

Later on, I removed the lace layer of my dress and veil, and I was then in the shimmering underdress for the first dance ("Have I Told You Lately" by Rod Stewart), and then there was the party! I felt wonderful in it, and so free! We partied the night away and had the time of our lives!
