Roughly 2 years prior to our engagement, I was looking through Pinterest and I saw the Lesley. It was my ultimate dream. We got engaged in October 2018 and during the month of November, I saw a sponsored post on Instagram of the LESLEY. Again, I was completely in awe of her.
I clicked on the post, found the name Enzoani, and went straight to the Enzoani website. I then searched the list of stockists only to discover there was one 10min from my house. I booked an appointment the following week with Bridal Wardrobe in Melrose Arch, in hopes that the LESLEY would be there.

As I arrived at Bridal Wardrobe in Melrose Arch, the LESLEY was the dress in the shop window front. At Bridal Wardrobe in Melrose Arch, I tried on 9 dresses - LESLEY being the first and last one. My dream had come true, I would be wearing the LESLEY on my special day.
Guy and I started out as friends. We had been friends for 3 years prior to us dating. We are still friends - best friends and lovers. In 2016, I invited Guy to my birthday party and from there it just blossomed. He went overseas to a festival in Portugal, and I remember thinking, “Oh boy, that’s us done.” However, Guy kept in touch with me as often as possible on his travels and even came home with some beautiful gifts for me.

Shortly after his trip, I went on a trip to Bali with a friend. While I was in Bali, he said he had a surprise for me when I return. I was convinced that the surprise was he had gotten a dog. When I landed back in South Africa, he picked me up from the airport and I was so excited to find out about his new dog. The surprise was actually not a dog, but rather telling me that he loves me. I was in love with him too. I couldn’t picture myself with anyone else!

My first-ever safari experience was in 2017 with Guy and his family. I was always a beach girl, I was born and bred at the beach and that was my happy place. However, after my first every bush aka safari experience with Guy and his family, I had found my new happy place. The bush was where my soul and heart felt content and happy, so much so that I even wanted to become a ranger. On the 20th of October 2018, Guy asked me to marry him at the beautiful Tshwene Lodge in the Welgevonden Game Park.

It was the most perfect day. Sunshine, love, my best friend, G&Ts and an afternoon thunderstorm. A year later, which brings us to now, Guy and I got married at the beautiful Bordeaux Game Farm in Limpopo, where we celebrated in true safari style, with all our favorite friends and family. Thank you, Guy, for loving me, being my best friend and for being the man better than my dreams.
Tell us about your wedding day!
We did the entire wedding ourselves. Guy's mom was our wedding planner and florist, and we did all the drying out of flowers during the course of the year. I had bought the bridesmaids dresses very early in the wedding planning journey and then gave each girl her dress. Not all the bridesmaids lived in the same city, so I didn’t see them together in their dresses along with me in mine until the actual wedding.

Guy's suit and groomsmen’s outfits were bought far apart from the bridesmaids' outfits so we were not exactly sure how all the colors would work out as a whole. My best part of the day was as I started making my way down the aisle, I looked at the entire wedding as a whole. All the planning, all the dreaming, every little detail was all perfect. It was the first time I had seen it all come together, and it was perfect.

With the help of our moms, families and friends, we collected and dried out all our own wedding flowers. Guy's mom was our wedding planner and with the help of her, our friends and everyone close to us, we were able to put together our dream wedding by ourselves.

Advice to other brides?
During the planning, remember you don’t need all the money to make your dreams come true. Be creative, be authentic and be an alternative. Be present on your wedding day, and take time to breathe and take it all in.
