Liam and I had been together for over 6 years until he popped the question. I had booked a trip to Barcelona for his 30th birthday as he is a huge football fan and has always been desperate to see world-famous Messi play. So he was very happy! Little did I know that this trip would equally be just as special for me.

From a hotel rooftop, we sat down to watch the fountains when he turned to me and said,
'Would you like to get married in Barcelona?'
Typical me started moaning and said,
'Well yeah, but we need to think about doing it soon.'

His response was,
'Well, it’s a good job I have this then!'
Liam got down on one knee and asked me to marry him. My response was 'Thank you.'
Ever since that moment has been a rollercoaster, and we married just over a year later and have loved every minute of it.
I originally chose a dress that was off-the-shoulder with a huge train and really heavy! It was gorgeous, but months later, I just wasn’t happy. After the first disaster, I went on the search again, and this is where I found Lainey. It was just perfect for the classic venue, but with a modern twist. It was so different from anything else I had tried on. The plunge added a little sass and made me feel like a young, trendy bride. And then you see the back -- well, that is something else! A big selling point was the weight of the dress. I am petite and love to dance. I knew I needed to be able to move in my dress, and this dress was just perfect.
My advice to any new bride is do not to buy the first dress they think they love. Make sure you look on Instagram at different designers and really understand what look you are after and really think about the look of the venue. It is so hard because there are so many pretty dresses out there. Also, DO NOT forget your veil! About 40 minutes before the ceremony my photographer asked if I had a veil to put on. It quickly hit me that I had left my veil in a separate bag at home which was over an hour away from the venue and all my guests were all arriving.
My maid of honour came to the rescue she called a bridal shop near to the venue and her other half went and picked it up. My original one was long and straight this one was long and a lot puffier which isn’t what I wanted and hid the back of my dress so I will always be annoyed at myself for this silly mistake but what’s done is done hey!
It rained for the two weeks before our wedding day. So my dream of getting married outside seemed like it was never going to happen. But the day before, it cleared up, and we got the OK to have the ceremony outside.

As my dad walked me outside, I remember it feeling like a dream as we walked towards Liam and seeing all our guests and my vision come to life; it was so overwhelming.

We knew years ago what our first dance would be - "Take Care" by Drake featuring Rihanna. It was amazing when all our friends joined us, and they all sang the lyrics at the top of their voices! I will never forget looking around the dance floor all night and seeing everyone dancing and having the best time.
Our day was a true reflection of us and what we love. Just do you, and don’t worry about anyone else’s opinions!
