JJ and I met as many modern couples have online through Bumble. We matched on December 21, 2018, when I was truly about to give up on online dating and dating in general for a while. I was in the airport on my way to fly home for the holiday when his bio describing himself as a goofy guy, park ranger, and self-proclaimed nerd caught my eye. We connected and he messaged me every day while I was gone until we had our first date on New Year’s Eve a few weeks later. It was the most fun and easy date ever and we quickly fell for each other bonding over being the youngest siblings, foodies, love of travel, and views on life. A year later we moved in together and since then have adopted our two fur babies/dogs Zola and Indi and bought our first house together. This last April, JJ planned a romantic proposal at one of our first date spots overlooking the ocean and hired a photographer to capture it all. He even flew my parents down as an added surprise! It was the easiest yes of my life :)
