In 2004 Jimmy and Judy met at North Miami Beach Senior High School. They acknowledged each other only with a smile as they had multiple classes together and shared a few friends in common. Judy was a runner in Track & Field and Jimmy played the trumpet in the school Band. They went off to college in different cities in Florida. Jimmy always had Judy in mind after graduating high school and wanted to stay in touch. As the years went by, life took them in different directions. Jimmy moved to California to explore more career opportunities with the government while Judy headed to New York to advance her career in hospitality.Shortly after the two reconnected by phone, they planned to meet each other for the first time in 15 years over brunch in their hometown, Miami, FL on their Thanksgiving break. A casual brunch in Wynwood later turned into dinner.Immediately after this first date, Jimmy called his close friend Derison and said, “He was going to marry Judy.”
