The proposal was the best weekend of my life. I got home late on a Friday evening from work for him to tell me we were leaving for the airport in a few hours for a spontaneous trip to Florence!

He proposed in the most romantic location in the Baboli Gardens where he found a secluded spot and got down on one knee to propose with the most beautiful bespoke Lorraine Schwartz ring!

My favorite memory of the day is from right at the beginning of the wedding when I started walking down the aisle.

As soon as I started the walk and heard the song play ("Valentine" by Lapsley) - I literally couldn’t stop crying!

Many years before, we were listening to the song together, and we said, ‘One day, when we get married, this is the song I’ll walk down the aisle to,’ and it hit me that that day had arrived and I was walking down the aisle to marry my soulmate.

After all the planning and activities of the week in Ibiza, it was the first real moment that I could take a second and realize what it had all been for, and it felt really special.

I was really overwhelmed, but I just couldn’t wait to reach the end and give him the biggest hug!

Advice to other brides?

Allow plenty of time for the planning! It takes so much more than you think it will!

I would also really recommend shopping around to find different suppliers - one of my favorite parts was coming up with really unique ideas and then finding a way to make them happen.

I had to search in so many different places to find the right people to work with - but I built great friendships from them! No matter what your idea is - you can find a way to make it a reality, so don’t give up!

It really is the best day (or in my case, week) of your life. Remember to enjoy every moment of it. Even though it can be stressful at times, remember why you are doing it, and find a way to enjoy the process!

The dress! Tell us more about it.

It was the first dress I tried on! I had a very good idea of the kind of look I wanted, and as soon as I put on the Mckinley, I instantly loved the overall look and fit.

I wanted to make lots of changes to make it perfect, and I was so happy to hear that they could make all the changes I wanted! It was really important to me to be able to take an already stunning design, but to make it more ‘me’ by making the changes I suggested so I knew it would suit me.
